On 24 September 2021, the Council of College Directors of Odesa Oblast organised an off-site meeting of the deputy directors for practical training of Odesa Oblast at the Black Sea Maritime Professional College of ONMU. OTPC ONAFT was represented at the methodological forum by: Deputy Director for Practical Training Ihor V. Berkan, Head of Practical Training Yu. H. Tochylkina, Secretary of the Scientific and Methodological Council N. V. Kopus, and Head of the Regional Methodological Committee for Economics and Finance of professional pre-higher education institutions of Odesa Oblast O. V. Korobkina.

The theme of the meeting was “Training Practice in a Virtual Office as an Effective Technology for Developing Students' Professional Competences”. Representatives of various educational institutions of Odesa were impressed by the system of organising practical training in specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activity”, which the Black Sea Maritime Professional College of ONMU has been successfully using for almost 25 years.

A practical class takes the form of a subgroup of students carrying out a clearly defined task over 6 hours. The subgroup works in turn in the departments of the training and practice firm “Antei”: “Management”, “Office Administration”, “Marketing and Sales”, “Purchasing and Warehouse”, “Accounting”, and by the end of the placement is able to prepare and draw up the documentation of a real firm.

The administration, master instructors and lecturers of the Black Sea Maritime Professional College of ONMU also gave an interesting tour of the laboratory boxes, richly equipped with machinery and visual demonstration materials, intended for the practical training of students in other specialties.

In addition, the following issues were discussed at the methodological forum:

  • organising and effectively conducting work placements in the dual system of education;

  • organising practical training in conditions of distance learning (quarantine);

  • funding the material base of workshops,

We sincerely thank the organisers of the forum and hope for promising further cooperation and exchange of experience.
