On 16 October 2026, on the initiative and with the organisation of lecturer Polina KUZNETSOVA of the special disciplines cycle commission of light industry, a career guidance event was held for 2nd-year students (group 2MK-25/MI-06) of specialty G15 Light Industry Technologies.
The meeting programme covered key areas of development of the modern industry:
• Creation of functional and protective workwear for medical workers and rescuers;
• Analysis of the current state, achievements and challenges of the Ukrainian light industry;
• Environmental approaches, upcycling and recycling of materials;
• Experience of cooperation between Ukrainian enterprises and well-known European brands;
• Innovations in the field of "smart" textiles (Smart Textiles);
• Safety and ergonomics requirements for children's clothing and footwear;
• The impact of ergonomics on the quality and comfort of everyday products;
• The psychology of style and its influence on how people are perceived by society.
Each presentation was accompanied by discussions and debates. Even frequent air raid alerts and forced moves to shelters did not prevent students from continuing their work with interest and exploring the opportunities of their chosen profession.
The event confirmed the importance of a practice-oriented approach in training future specialists, fostering their professional motivation, deepening their understanding of current labour market requirements and recognising the strategic role of light industry in the development of the country's economy.
