Literary readings dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Bahrianyi, an outstanding Ukrainian writer, publicist, poet and public figure, one of those who, through their work, affirmed the unbreakable spirit of Ukraine, the ideas of freedom and national dignity, were held in groups 2RP-12 (lecturer I. M. Rudets) and 2KG-11 (lecturer N. M. Komar).
During the event, students had the opportunity to learn more deeply about the life and work of the artist, who went through a difficult life path, faced persecution by the Soviet authorities, but did not renounce his convictions and his love for Ukraine. His literary legacy became a testament to courage, inner strength and a person's belief in their own dignity even in the most difficult circumstances.
Participants paid special attention to the works of Ivan Bahrianyi, in particular his well-known novels "Tyhrolovy" (The Tiger Hunters) and "Sad Hetsymanskyi" (The Garden of Gethsemane), which explore themes of the struggle for freedom, resistance to the totalitarian system, the indomitability of the human spirit and the pursuit of justice.
The literary readings gave students an occasion to reflect on the relevance of the writer's work, to feel the power of his words and to think about important values: freedom, patriotism, responsibility for the fate of one's country and steadfastness in the face of life's trials.
Such events contribute to the formation of national consciousness among young people, the cultivation of respect for Ukrainian literature and the preservation of historical memory. Indeed, the work of Ivan Bahrianyi sounds remarkably contemporary even today, reminding us that even in the most difficult times a person must remain true to themselves, their ideals and their native Ukraine.
We remember outstanding Ukrainians, read Ukrainian literature, and cherish national dignity!
