To commemorate the 155th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ukrainian poet, writer, translator and public figure Lesya Ukrainka, a literary event, “Lesya Ukrainka — a Symbol of Indomitable Spirit”, was held.
Together with the college library, a group of students of 1Mb-01/FB-06 took part in the event, under the guidance of lecturer Komar N. M.
The Head of the Library, Bilozub O. I., presented a talk on the poet's work and read poems, and the librarians Zozulia-Kolonifa T. P. and Zakharova V. Ya. also read verses.
The aim of the event was to deepen students' knowledge of the life and creative path of Lesya Ukrainka, to foster national consciousness, and to develop reading culture and expressive speaking skills.
The library staff prepared a virtual book exhibition, “Lesya Ukrainka — the Voice of an Era”, presenting the writer's literary works, literary studies, biographical materials and illustrated editions. The librarians introduced students to interesting facts from the poet's life and drew attention to the strength of her character, her civic position and the relevance of her work in present-day conditions.
During the event, students recited poems by Lesya Ukrainka and read excerpts from her dramatic works, in particular addressing the themes of struggle, freedom, dignity and spiritual indomitability. The presentations were accompanied by a discussion of the ideological content of the works and their significance for today's youth.
The event took place in a warm, creative atmosphere. The students showed a high level of interest, took an active part in the discussion, and demonstrated the ability to analyse a literary text and express their own opinions.
The literary event contributed to broadening the students' outlook, strengthening respect for the national cultural heritage and an awareness of the importance of Lesya Ukrainka in the history of Ukrainian literature and culture.
