Life Is the Highest Value
Hardly anyone would deny the value of life. People are ready to take an incredible number of the most varied actions to preserve their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. It seems that there is nothing that could be more important to a person than their own life or the lives of those close to them. There are enormous numbers of examples of this.
It seems that people do not often think about how to prolong life when everything is going well for them. But as soon as someone falls ill, they begin to think about how to get cured and prolong their life. At such moments people realise that illness can kill them, and therefore sharply change their views on life. Those who had bad habits abruptly give them up. And those who previously did not think about their health think about it constantly. It is important not to forget that a person’s health is directly connected with life, which is so valuable to them. Therefore every person who values their life and wants to live as long as possible must look after their health from a young age. This includes not only a complete and unequivocal rejection of bad habits, for example, drinking alcoholic beverages, smoking cigarettes and using narcotic substances, but also regular participation in various kinds of sport. If a person does not follow these rules, old age will be very hard for them. Moreover, such a person risks dying young. It is also necessary to take measures to maintain one’s mental health. A person should reduce stress in their life to a minimum, rejoice more and spend time with people who are pleasant to them.
Responsibility for a life so valuable to a person lies not only with the person themselves, but also with the state in which they live. It is the state that guarantees a person’s life in legislative acts. Therefore the state creates authorised bodies, such as the ministry of internal affairs, which protects society and every individual person. A person should value this action on the part of the state and not abuse it.
In addition to all this, it is worth noting that the idea of the supreme value of human life is agreed with not only by states, but also by the most famous literary figures and thinkers. Such authors as Hrabovskyi, Stus, Symonenko and Shevchenko, in their literary works, always alongside other important ideas, emphasised that the value of human life is the most important thing for everyone. In the end, I agree with all of them as well. Yes, human life is an absolute treasure that must be cherished and that one should always strive to prolong.
