Department of Computer Engineering

The Department of Computer Engineering of the Separate Structural Subdivision “Odesa Technical Professional College of Odesa National University of Technology” trains higher education students at the educational level of Bachelor in the field of study 123 “Computer Engineering”.

Currently the department has 5 full-time lecturers and 4 working on an external part-time basis. Among them there are 6 Candidates of Sciences and 2 Doctors of Sciences.

The main aim of the department’s activity is the high-quality training and graduation of qualified, competitive specialists for the field 12 “Information Technology”.

This aim is achieved through:

• increasing the intellectual potential of the department, developing its material and technical base, and raising the professionalism of its teaching staff;

• introducing innovative methods of organising the educational process and using the latest educational technologies.

• developing the material and technical base.

Achieving the stated aim involves the following measures:

• improving the quality of students’ education by introducing new active information and telecommunication technologies, interactive forms and methods of teaching, and wider use of electronic information resources and other software;

• deepening the general information training of future specialists and developing their ability to use computer and information and communication tools effectively, which will promote their information culture and the wider use of technologies and resources in their future work;

• ensuring the necessary quality of the teaching and methodological materials prepared by the lecturers of the department.

The lecturers of the department set themselves the goal not only of giving future specialists knowledge, but also of building motivation for their own professional development and fostering a desire for constant renewal of that knowledge and for self-improvement.
