From 10 to 27 February 2026, the practical psychologist of OTPC ONTU is holding a series of events dedicated to Safer Internet Day.
The aim of these events is to raise first-year students' awareness of the risks in the digital environment, to foster a culture of safe internet use, to improve digital literacy and develop a responsible attitude towards personal information, and to improve skills in the safe use of the Internet and in interaction in the information and communication space. Such activities help students not only to avoid risks but also to use digital resources competently, which is essential in the modern world.
Safer Internet Day is an annual global initiative launched in the European Union for its member states, which draws the attention of the population, especially children and teenagers, to internet safety.
The main threats on the internet:
- Phishing — fraudulent e-mails and websites that try to steal your data.
- Viruses and malicious software.
- Cyberbullying — harassment online.
- Leakage of personal information through unreliable passwords or public networks.
Holding Safer Internet Day at the college is a step towards creating a safer digital environment for all participants in the educational process.
