On 26 November, Anastasiia Kryvchenko, tutor of academic group 2KS-61, held an educational class hour on the topic: “Basic Rules for Student–Lecturer Communication in Messengers”.
Today, messengers have become an integral part of our academic life. We write to lecturers, clarify deadlines, send in our work – and it is precisely how we do this that determines not only the speed of the reply but also the level of mutual respect.
In the session, the students and their tutor went through simple but extremely important rules:
– always address people politely and formally (in Ukrainian, with the formal “Vy”);
– begin a message with a greeting;
– state your name and group before asking a question;
– formulate your thoughts clearly and without slang or abbreviations (“Hi”, “Plz”, “Thx”, “Anyway” → “Good afternoon”, “Please”, “Thank you”);
– write during working hours, respecting the lecturer’s personal space;
– observe the etiquette of group chats.
This educational hour was not just a lecture but a reminder: a culture of communication is part of our maturity and professionalism. It creates an atmosphere of trust, helps to avoid misunderstandings and makes the learning process comfortable for everyone.
We learn not only subjects but also how to be responsible and attentive in everyday details. And it is from such details that a great culture of mutual respect begins.
