On 18 October 2024, on the eve of the training placement for acquiring skills and practical work experience, third-year students of specialty 182 Light Industry Technologies, educational and professional programme “Fashion Industry”, together with the Head of the Production Workshops, Nataliia KUZINA, visited the ARTSTEP showroom of the STEP GROUP of companies. At this location, products of the companies ARTSTEP, AC-Step, ARTZIP and EKOJ are on display – materials for making leather goods and footwear, that is, a range of fittings, tooling, components for shoe soles, and leathers and linings for shoe uppers.
The students had the opportunity not only to see the variety of materials but also to learn about their properties and about their use and care. This knowledge will be useful when developing their own models of footwear and accessories during the placement. A pleasant bonus for the students was that the introduction to the materials and components was conducted by Viktoriia BILOUSENKO, a graduate of our College of 2014, who shared her experience of working at ARTSTEP, spoke about development prospects in this field and answered all the students’ questions. This meeting became a clear example of how the knowledge and skills gained at the College can be successfully applied in industry.
The visit to the ARTSTEP showroom became a real master class in materials science for our students.
