International student scientific and practical conference

On 13 May 2025, the 1st International Student Scientific and Practical Conference “Refrigeration and Climate Control Engineering. The Modern Profession – 2025” took place, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Odesa Technical Professional College of ONTU and the 60th anniversary of the specialty “Refrigeration and Climate Control Engineering” at the college. The conference was organised by the Separate Structural Subdivision “Odesa Technical Professional College of ONTU” (Ukraine, Odesa) in cooperation with the Communal State Treasury Enterprise “Almaty Multidisciplinary College” (Kazakhstan, Almaty).

The conference brought together students, lecturers, scientists and specialists from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Malaysia. The event was held online using the Zoom platform.

The plenary opening of the conference began with welcoming addresses from the directors of the colleges:

• Ivanova Liliia Viktorivna, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Acting Director of the Separate Structural Subdivision “OTPC ONTU”;

• Beisetbaiev Asylkhan Kosylkhanovych, Director of the CSTE “AMC”.

and by Director Shapkin Roman Dmytrovych (Almaty, Kazakhstan) of LLC “Yevrokold Servis LTD” with the paper: “Yevrokold Servis LTD – A Look into the Future”.

Next, papers by students and their academic supervisors were presented in the areas of innovation in refrigeration and climate control engineering. The topics presented included:

• Magnetic cooling is already a reality (Moroz N., Petushenko S.M., Ukraine)

• Optimisation of the refrigeration cycle to improve energy efficiency (Futornyi H.V., Bryhadyr L.H., Ukraine)

• Propane in modern refrigeration units (Yusupov A., Yermekbaieva A.Zh., Kazakhstan)

• Cryostats in quantum computers (Tymofieiev M., Petushenko S.M. - Ukraine)

• Application of the reverse thermodynamic cycle of an air machine for the production of heat and cold (Yasiukevich V.V., Selyvanov A.P., Ukraine)

• Ammonia in refrigeration equipment (Haikalov M., Tolebek A.S, Kazakhstan)

• Innovative thermal insulation materials (Monastyrskyi Yu.S., Bryhadyr L.H., Ukraine)

• Maintenance of industrial refrigeration units (Kosenko A.I., Torba S.H., Ukraine)

• Prospects for using CO₂ in refrigeration machines (Serhieiev T., Yermekbaieva A.Zh., Kazakhstan)

• Ecological and economic prospects of integrated refrigeration systems with heat recovery for supermarkets (Dmytrenko A.A., Berkan Ir.V., Kopus N.V., Ukraine)

• Design, installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (Van Khusin, Van Aliff Rokhaimi, Akhmad Retvan, Khafsakh, Malaysia)

• Design, installation and maintenance of HVAC (Zakariia, Mokhd. Zamri Afenddi, Malaysia)

The presidium of the conference included:

• Ivanova L.V. (Separate Structural Subdivision “OTPC ONTU”), Beisetbaiev A.K. (CSTE “AMC”) — co-chairs of the presidium,

• Sulyma Yu.Yu., Bekberhenova M.S. — members of the presidium.

The organising committee was headed by Petushenko S.M., Candidate of Technical Sciences. The organising committee included lecturers of the Subject Committee for specialised refrigeration courses (Separate Structural Subdivision “OTPC ONTU”), lecturers of the CSTE “AMC”, methodologists and representatives of student government from both colleges, as well as invited participants from Malaysia.

Holding the conference was an important step in establishing international cooperation and the exchange of innovative experience between students and teaching staff in the field of refrigeration and climate control technologies; it contributed to professional development, mutual respect and tolerance, and to the presentation of the cultures of different countries.
